Tucked into the northern corner of The Piazza at Schmidt's Darling's Diner serves its delicious menu of creative dishes 24 hours per day...including breakfast, of course! Darling's provides a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere to enjoy their delicious treats and prepare for a busy day exploring Philadelphia. The outside seating offers axpansive views of the trendy and lively Piazza at Schmidt's, a redeveloped brewery which is now a residetial complex. The Piazza offers a large selection of other stops to make and things to see including bars, restaurants, shops, and numerous vendor tents during festival season. The Piazza also offers a big screen on which to watch ball games and movies. And, speaking of offerings, if you're ever in the neighborhood and looking for carry-out, Darling's also sells beer to go. The Benjamin Frankin Bridge, connecting Central Philadelphia with New Jersey has an elevated walkway open and free to the public that spans the entire bridge for almost 2 miles. The walkway is a beautiful location from which to capture breathtaking views of the Philadelphia skyline and the New Jersey coastline. It is a favorite place for photographers, runners, bikers, and walkers alike. Of note the Ben Franklin Bridge, was once the longest suspension bridge in the world with a span of 1,750 feet. It held the title from 1926-1929 until The Ambassador Bridge from Ontario to Detroit became the longest with a span of 1,850ft. The Ben Franklin Bridge is the hub of celebrations, fireworks, and an iconic landmark to visit during a visit to Philadelphia any time of year.

Inhabited since the early 1700s, Elfreth's Alley is America's oldest street. Great care is taken by its residents to preserve the original American architecture and colonial atmosphere. The neighborhood was established in 1702 and was a model of America itself, being home to immigrants from many countries around The Old World and many faiths. The meticulously maintained houses and landscaping welcome thousands of visitors from around the country and the world every year. Surrounding Elfreth's Alley is Old City which is the original part of Philadelphia settled by William Penn. Today Old City is a dynamic, creative neighborhood full of art galleries, design firms, and stylish shops, many of which stay open late on the first Friday of every month to offer snacks, drinks, live music, parties...and art!
